Your electronic media is vulnerable to excess heat and moisture and needs extra protection. A typical fire safe or fire resistant file cabinet keeps temperatures below 350 degrees without regard for humidity. Media safes are designed to keep internal temperatures below 125 degrees and humidity levels below 80%.

For document protection, think fire safe. These safes are designed specifically as barriers against heat. The formed steel body is shaped in a way that heat just can't penetrate the door seal! And the heat-cooling material in fire safe walls provides more protection against extreme temperatures than "burglar" safes. Maximum Security offers a full range of fire resistant safes for your document storage needs. Our best fire safes are made-in-the-USA and carry UL's Class 350°F two-hour fire and impact rating. We also offer imported fire safes that have earned international one and two-hour fire ratings.

Floor safes are the preferred option when you are convinced that "out of site - out of mind" is your most important buying criteria. When properly installed in a concrete floor they provide excellent burglar and fire protection for documents jewelry, precious metals and other valuable items. For your basic safe-keeping of valuables whether it's cash at your retail business or jewelry, cash and other valuable at home, these Burglary Safes, aka Security Chests offer superior protection than those big-box, off-the-shelf solutions. The dimensions below include the additional 2" of depth required for the lock and handle.

Whenever it makes sense we pick up used security safes that we can pass on to our customers at good prices. Safes don't wear out but we find that most of our customers "buy and hold". If they outgrow their existing safe they often pass it down to a family member. As a result quality used safes, at the right price, are not plentiful. Those that we do bring in often sell very quickly.

Below is a list of the used security safes we have in stock as of the most recent update. Keep in mind that most of these safes can have their locks changed. If the safe currently has a traditional tumbler style combo lock it likely can be upgraded to a high security digital lock, and vice versa. Maximum Security wall safes are designed to provide hidden protection for documents and miscellaneous valuables. Each wall safe is designed to fit between 16 o/c wall studs with pre-drilled anchor holes and a built-in flange eliminating unnecessary replastering. Extra depth will be required for the two fire-resistant 1310 models and the higher security model 1214.
